Example 5: Rapid Improvement Workshop at IDM Electronics
IDM Electronics manufactures slip rings for current transfer. The shop floor personnel of one of the product cells attended a four-day Rapid Improvement Workshop to boost production by 100%. This was achieved through re-layout of the cell, line balancing, and the elimination of non-value added activities.
The Rapid Improvement Workshop is similar to a Blitz Kaizen event, in which a team will focus completely on a specific problem or area and through the use of problem-solving tools, lean concepts and their applied creativity, the team members can achieve radical improvements in a short period.
Other customers include: ALSTOM Transport, Avery Berkel, Office for National Statistics, HM Revenue and Customs, Aberdeen City
